Tiberian Niqqud: An Overview of the Tiberian Vocalization System
The Masoretes devised a system of diacritics to add to the consonantal text of the Hebrew Tanakh to mark vowels, stress, and makes finer distinctions of consonant quality and length, and punctuation.
